Whimsical Puzzling with a Crispy Edge
When I dove into Bread Pit, I couldn’t help but be charmed by the quirky premise: You steer a slice of bread in its quest to become the perfect piece of toast. The traps, which resemble threatening forks and knives, serve up just enough challenge to keep you on your toes, but don’t detract from the delicious whimsy of the game.
Gathering cheese on the way is gratifying for completionists, but also gives reason to every twist and tumble of the yeasty hero. I was convinced enough by its 4.1 player rating that I needed to give this game a chance, despite some initial reservations.
Indeed, Bread Pit is light-hearted fun designed to be easily picked up but hard to put down. Although some levels made me feel like I slightly burnt the toast, for the most part, they were a delight, urging me to keep bouncing toward the electrifying goal – the toaster!
