About Scala 40
Scala 40 is a classic Italian rummy-style card game played with two French decks plus jokers
Players create melds, either sets of the same rank or runs in the same suit, and must lay down their first combinations only after reaching at least 40 points. On each turn, you draw a card and discard one, improving your hand and, once you are on the table, adding cards to your own melds or even extending opponents’ combinations when rules allow. The round ends when a player gets rid of all cards, and everyone else scores the points left in their hand, so the goal is to go out first and keep your leftovers as low as possible.
