About Atari Pong

It's pretty much the game that started it all!

Play Atari Pong and see why everyone talks about this classic. When it launched in the early 1970s, Pong changed gaming forever. All you do is move a paddle up or down on either side of the screen, going up against the computer. Whoever scores 11 points first takes the win. Pong hit arcades in 1972, based on a digital version of ping pong. Fun fact: It was never planned to become a full game. The American programmer Allan Alcorn made it as a test project. But when Atari’s co-founders checked it out, they knew it had huge potential, and that is how Pong became a legend.
