Picking up the follow up book of the bestselling Apothecarium - Renaissance of Evil, I felt myself sucked into a gorgeous dark hidden object game. Apothecarium Chapter II drew me into the fathoms below a strange city, tasked with locating objects within a messy room, an exciting test.
With its gorgeous graphics and heavy atmosphere that makes you feel a part of its strange world, the game tells an immersive story. The levels are filled with items to find, from glaringly obvious to sneakily hidden. I got stuck on some particularly dense items every now and again, but appreciated the magic hint feature, despite some players reporting that this just didn’t seem to work for them.
Overall, Apothecarium Chapter II is a fun puzzle game, complete with an exciting backstory. It might test your patience now and again, though.
It’s a pleasant little distraction for hidden object game fans looking to solve some mystery.
