Large cards and a beautiful design, a lust for the eyes

You get a regular deck of 52 cards and can pick if you want to draw one card or three at a time. Your main goal is to build four suit stacks, starting with the Ace for each. Below those suit stacks, you have seven piles of cards. Use these to move cards around and flip over the hidden ones. Stack cards in order, going from King down to Ace, and remember to switch between black and red cards with each move. If you run out of moves, just draw from the deck again and keep adding cards to the seven piles. If you turn up an Ace, double-click it and it will go right to its suit stack. After that, go for the 2, then 3, 4, and keep going until you finish with the King for that suit. If you can’t find the next card you need, keep drawing more cards and shifting them around the seven piles until you spot it. Sometimes you’ll get stuck as you play. In that case, your best bet is to undo some moves and try a new path. Stay sharp with your moves and you’ll reach the end.

Engaging Twist on a Classic Solitaire Experience

In more time with Klondike Solitaire Big, I find it a satisfying digital take on the classic card game. And the decision of whether to draw one or three cards introduces an element of strategy that makes for an engaging game. You have to have a good mix of skill and luck to navigate between the seven stacks and expose hidden cards, and lay down additional cards in the four suit stacks from Ace to King. The game is, I think, fair enough, although I did need to backtrack a bit — a real part of the solitaire challenge. Others also reported intermittent problems with score registrations and preferences (possibly its cookie setting), which seems paltry in what, on the whole, seems a nicely operating game. It's one of those things that the community misses when it comes to having separate leader boards for one and three-card draw play styles, but it doesn't take away from any of the gameplay. All-in-all Klondike Solitaire Big deserves a solid 4.3 out of 5 from me!
